I second B&W....I have a nightstand iPhone dock and the sound is incredible! I'm considering replacing my old Bose speakers with these.

They have an internal audio decoder (basically their own external soundcard) and can plug in via USB for superior audio. A little pricey, but B&W delivers!

Completely agree B&W are superlative speakers; I also looked a the B&W Airplay Zeppelin and the equally superb Klipsch G17-Air, which i personally prefer. My reservation is the limitation of Airplay itself, the set up i have now in my office i can stream from any Bluetooth enabled device, my computers, phone & tablet are all aptX compliant.

The B&W MM-1`s are another beautiful set up and i am equally tempted the only issue is the "wire" as i very much prefer an untethered solution. Equally the present transient lifestyle of moving country to country every 2 - 3 years tends very much to take it`s toll on high end equipment. As much as the Klipsch G17-Air looks fabulous in piano black, however give or take a household move or two and it will have more scratches than the local ice rink, Apple`s industrial design ethic and anodised finish really does make a lot of sense for those on the move :p

I have a set of altec lasing expressionist plus, quite cheap and sounds pretty decent, just a lack headphone jack but for a laptop is doesnt matter :)
