Verizon Wireless iPhone 4S on 6.1.2 using evasi0n.

Looking for an app/hack/tweak that will kill SMS notifications while I am on a call. I absolutely cannot stand the intrusion that it makes if I am on a call and get an SMS.

I downloaded NotiQuiet from Cydia, and it seems to work some of the time. As long as the phone is "active" in the foreground, it should work. I still get some notifications rolling through while on a call though. Phone has been powered off and resprung a few times to make sure that it works.

This would almost complete my elimination of annoying alerts on the phone. Next up is forcing the phone to use the SMS alert tone that I choose for all SMS, even if the SMS app is open. I will figure out how to eliminate the whoosh when you get a text. I eliminated the sent whoosh already.

This won't help with the notification itself--I'll be watching this thread to see what turns up--but it might be of use in the quest to eliminate other stupid random noises:

There's a list in that thread of the file names for the system sounds. Some may have changed in iOS 6+, but the majority that I'm using still seem to work.

I ended up putting together a UISounds folder in my primary Winterboard theme with "silent" .caf files to eliminate things like the sent & received whoosh sounds. I believe you can also simply replace them in the system files themselves (double check this first as you certainly don't want to break anything critical when restores aren't an option). Since I'm already using WB, it was easier for me simply to set them up as a theme.

I have no idea why Apple thinks I should have to listen to all that noise. Or the vibrations, like the one on plugging in if the phone is muted, or when you flip the mute switch--I want those gone too unless I specifically request them. Come on, Apple, options are a good thing.

Looks like the free RingerX Lite version has the same toggle (RingerX VIP is probably overkill for me, but may be exactly what the OP is looking for.) Thanks, Tri, appreciate this!
