looking to buy another refurbished mac pro? suggestions..

Hey guys,

I have had a mac pro 1,1 for a few years now. I have maverick running on it and I am looking at upgrading to a newer 2008 version. I am using it for FCPX and heavy photoshop and lightroom 5 retouching. I cant afford a new "trash can" mac pro. So im looking at the next best thing. suggestions?

Go the cMP 4.1 -> flashed to cMP 5.1 or an original cMP 5.1 route. It will be a much more satisfying deal for future upgrades and having a GREAT upgradable machine. Please read some threads here on MR that will explain it all to you!

Skip to 2008 model and look for a 2009 or 2010. Better technology. 2008 is too old.

I agree with the others. There is a massive difference between the 2008 and 2009 models that is well worth the price difference.
