I found a 27inch 2009 iMac w/base specs and 12 gigs upgraded RAM for 600$. is this a good deal, and how would it run?
 
Anything from 2009 won't be too fast without yanking the hard drive and dropping in an SSD. Since you said base model, I assume it has a Core 2 Duo? That processor is getting old.
