Hello,

I am looking to replace the standard Apple earphones, but I don't want to spend too much (< $50).
I currently have a 1st Gen 8GB iPod Touch.
I could get Apple's Earphones with Remote and Mic:

But wouldn't be able to use the mic or remote. First Gen Touch's cannot use the remote, correct?

I am wondering what people recommend as a good replacement for Apple's standard earphones?
Lastly, I do not want in-ear earphones -- something similar to Apple's default earphones would be great.

Would Sony's Fontopia Earbud Headphones be a good buy?

Or, what about?

Or ...

Thanks.

Bang & Olufsen A8 Earphones are your best bet. They are a little over $50 (around $60.) These headphones are considered to be some of the best made and are often compared against some of the best IEMs out there.

Thanks for the info.
However, all I can seem to find is models with an "ear strap", as seen here:

I was hoping to avoid that, as they don't fit well when you're wearing a hat, etc.
Have you heard anything about YUIN PK3's?

Thanks.

That's nature of the beast.

Yuin is one of the best earphone brands known around. I have never heard a pair, but am quite aware that most consider the amp type to have a large effect on the low-end of the headphones.

There are two stores on Google Shops that are selling them for around $60.

And, if you have read the forum rules, you have to realize that Demi's only have to pay a fee for their status. However, my experience with high-end headphones is pretty extensive.

"Boone correctedbit" <-

What? I'm sorry, but I have school tomorrow too; learn how to spell. Also, you cannot go around insulting members here and expect things to go away with "treaties." Have some respect. I'm pretty sure that I have some experience, as well as the ability to type.

As for the OP; like I said above, my general knowledge is that the amp is rather important with Yuin models. I will however get to try a pair in two weeks, one of my friends just bought a pair.

I've always had the idea that headphones are all about personal choice. Go out and try a few and see what you like. Just cos someone says a certain brand are better than others, doesn't mean squat. I'm a DJ and i use Sennheiser HD25s and love them, there are friends i work with who would never buy them etc. All personal choice.
