I have 4 RAM slots and looking to add some new ram. Is it as simple as going to crucial selecting your machine and buying it? Are there different types of RAM? Are there other better options available that might not be offered on crucial? Should I look at other sites?

Thanks in advance!

Crucial is a respectable HIGH End vendor. Their Prices are usually 20% higher than most others but i belive they offer a lifetime replacement warranty.
Like they said above... crucial is good to document what type of ram you need. Then make the purchse elsewhere.
OPtions:
Macmall.com
Chipmerchant.com
Macsales.com(OWC) - most RAM they have has a lifetime warranty with a better price

And my recommendation in the USA : Data Memory Systems

Yes, there are two distinct types of RAM for PowerMac G5's, depending whether they are Single/Dual Processor, or the DualCores introduced Oct 19 2005.

Thanks
