Hello I am looking to upgrade my HD in my macbook what the largest size i can go to and what do i need......last question if i can upgrade where is the best place to buy from...
Macbooks support 2.5" SATA Drives up to 320GB right now (largest that fits anyway). You can get 320GB drives from various places for around the $200 mark if not a bit less.
You should review the ifixit guides on exactly what to do once you get one.
I have a somewhat related question, though it may seems stupid to some, but I am completely new with mac stuff (I havent even actually bought one yet...Im waiting for the next update).
Is reinstalling the the OS just as easy as replacing the HD and putting the cd in? I guess what Im asking is, are you going to get any crap for it not being the original HD?

Also as an update I found buy.com has the 320GB Passports for $169 and free shipping. You can then just take the drive out of the enclosure and put it in the macbook.
I had a question on this topic as well..
I was curious, will switching from a stock HD in a Macbook to a 320GB 5400 rpm.. will the battery life decrease?
