You're not going to notice a difference between 10mbps and 30mbps ON YOUR IPHONE. Seriously people, get a grip.

True, but it'd be nice to at least hit 10 on lte. This was taken at LAX two days ago.

It's the last day of my data plan and I had over 100 mb left over to kill, so I decided to give it a shot.

I'm in Culver City... which is pretty close to LAX and I just got 17.72Mbps Down and 7.20Mbps up... not too shabby.

It has really felt fast the last couple of days. It's only been a week for me. But this thing zips.

Nice! iPhone 5 has been well worth the purchase for me.

I am still on the fence. Got the unlimited plan of AT&T but really thinking of switching to the verizon iPhone 5. I live in Santa Monica

Unbelievable!

I have HORRIBLE LTE speeds on AT&T here in LA. Just look at this. When I start up SpeedTest it takes several seconds to even find the closest server! My friends with Verizon have at least 20+ MBPS. When I switch off LTE and go to 4G my speeds are better - LOL! A lot of the time it just ZEROS out with no ping and 0 download speed.

What can I do? Complain to AT&T? Any chance it will improve?

Did you also only have one bar? LA is a known problem market for AT&T LTE, along with Chicago. Expect it to greatly improve when they deploye more spectrum there by 2014. And I'm not saying that its going to take them over a year to fix it, Just saying by 2014 they said all markers should have more spectrum and widespread coverage throughout the entire network.

I have one bar sometimes, otherwise have more. I just had issues getting any signal at lunch with my friend. Will it do any good to complain to AT&T? Any apps or something that can boost my signal?

I've had ATT since before it was Cingular. And I've never had a problem until now. At work I have to toggle off LTE to get apps to load anything, iMessage always struggles to work.

The funny thing is when I first bought the phone, my coverage was fine. It worked extremely well at work and then as more and more users purchased iPhone 5's my data slowed to a crawl.

I would like to switch to Verizon, but their plans are god awful and much more expensive than what I'm paying right now.

Granada Hills (Northridge) - 12.22 mbps down and 6.65 mbps up.
Apple Valley - 44.35 mbps down and 18.15 mbps up.
Victorville (SVL) - 13.15 mbps down and 8.07 mbps up.

Parent's house is Granada Hills - 1-2 bars of reception
Apple Valley is my work - Max reception.
Victorville is my house - 3 bars of reception.

All LTE. Yep. I'm happy.

Unfortunately no and no. You could those use the mark the spot app to keep marking the areas you have issues. It may help them prioritize areas that need help the most.

AT&T: i'm rocking an awful 7.5mbps down / 2.5 up at 1am when i normally/just got 3.5mbps down / 3mpbs up on my '4g' 4s. not too happy. how are the rest of you doing?

First week I had the phone I took it to San Diego and consistently got 20-50 pretty much everywhere. Next week I was in Hollywood/DTLA/Venice and it was horrible. I think I topped out around 12 at the Clippers game. In west LA I had to turn of LTE just to get data!!!

Just went into an AT&T store in West Hollywood and the associate told me to TURN OFF LTE around this area. LOL. Guess I will have to. He told me AT&T was working on it. Still jealous of my Verizon buddies with LTE around me. Seems like this is just a West Hollywood area issue. Oh well. :(

I notice that in densely populated areas, LTE is the worst. In Washington DC, I was pulling about 11mbps down, but in the suburbs of DC, I was pulling 40mbps+

In downtown Denver, I get about 8mbps down on LTE, but in the suburbs, I've gotten as high as 53mbps down.

Sorry, I just love flaunting that screenshot whenever I can.

Wow.. thats not good... I'm also in Weho... ATT is a bit cheaper than Verizon tho no?

Verizon easily takes the cake when it comes to LTE speeds in Los Angeles -- same goes for us SoCal data users as well:

Yea but they dont have good plans for individuals with just one device; only families/friends with multiple device...

I want unlimited talk and text

$40 "Monthly Line Access" for the iphone5 at Verizon and
$60 for 2 GB of Shared data...

for $100 total... Seems a bit expensive no? Are there any better deals than this to be had?

Just curious, for you guys in L.A that were NOT grandfathered in the ATT unlimited data plan, how much do you pay for unlimited talk/text and 1,2 or 3 gigs of data transfer?
