If any of you have an idea how to help here, I would be most appreciative. I used to have MacFUSE installed, so if that could be causing any trouble, let me know. I've since uninstalled it.

The main problem is that I cannot use Go...Connect to Folder or Go...Connect to server to connect to any remote file system. When I type in the path, the only message I get is that the path doesn't parse and it should have "vnc://" in it.

After a lot of wrangling around last night, I decided to repair permissions. When I do so, I get the following errors that it cannot fix.

Open error 5: "Input/output error" on System/Library/Filesystems/NetFSPlugins/smb.bundle
Open error 5: "Input/output error" on System/Library/Filesystems/NetFSPlugins/smb.bundle/Contents
Open error 5: "Input/output error" on System/Library/Filesystems/NetFSPlugins/smb.bundle/Contents/MacOS
Open error 5: "Input/output error" on System/Library/Filesystems/NetFSPlugins/smb.bundle/Contents/MacOS/smb
Open error 5: "Input/output error" on System/Library/Filesystems/NetFSPlugins/smb.bundle/Contents/_CodeSignature
Open error 5: "Input/output error" on System/Library/Filesystems/NetFSPlugins/smb.bundle/Contents/_CodeSignature/CodeResources

I see 'afp' and 'http' errors of the same type.

Repair permissions cannot cope with the problem. I have not had the change to repair the disk yet - but I thought I'd post here, first. I'm not sure but I think 10.6.3 did this to me - at least that's when I first noticed it.

Any idea as to next steps? I won't be able to try anything until later tonight.
