I recently had an external hard drive with all my photographs looked at by a data retrieval company. They "retrieved" all the data but the files all appear empty despite being told that the data retrieved is almost 1TB. They informed me that:Our engineer can see that following this file path - \6369079A1\.Trashes\501\Jon’s MacBook Pro.sparsebundle, locates a previous TimeMachine back up that has been put into the trash. This showing a size of 857.09GB and could include the data that you are looking for. Can anyone tell me whether I will be able to access teh data please?

Launch Disk Utility then go to Open Disk Image like in my screenshot. Then navigate to where the image is and select it to open the image.

Then go to Finder and you will see the mounted image like in my second screen shot.
