    Hi folks,
As shown in the attached I've lost the folder listing (Favourites in Finder) when trying to open stuff.

Note it does appear in Finder and I know how to Hide/Show it there.

This problem is with other apps e.g. Chrome, MS Word...

    It's gone!

How do I get it back?

    Thanks

    Try this:
Open a Finder Window and re-arrange the order of your Favourites by dragging 1 item above another or something.
Close the Finder window and see if your Open dialog now shows the Favourites.
You may need to logout or reboot for the change to take effect...

Open Finder. Go to Finder>Preferences>Sidebar. See if everything is checked off that you want in your Finder Sidebar. If that is not the issue try restarting Finder. The quickest way to restart the Finder in OS X is by using the Dock on a Mac: Hold down Option key and Right Click on Finder's Dock icon, then select “Relaunch” from the menu.

All I can think of at this time. Hopefully this will help you out.
