Lost iPhone - Serial number

I lost my iPhone a while ago, and since had to purchase a new one. Anway, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get the serial # for the store credit? I can't find the receipt anywhere =( I'll keep looking though.

wow, that really sucks. i really think you should call apple about your situation. hope you get your rebate smoothly.
 
Yeah, just call Apple and say you lost your old one. They obviously have records of it.

How are you going to get the text message with the code needed to get the store credit if you don't have the phone?

and what's stopping the guy who stole it from punching in the phone number and serial number and getting the credit for himself?

Is the phone auto-linked to the account that activated it?

It's not going to work, you need the phone in hand to get the credit because Apple sends you a text message with the confirmation number.
 
Getting rebate TXT message after losing iphone

You can get txt messages after losing your phone.

Go to the AT&T store and ask to buy a new sim. They will tie it to your mobile number and most likely give it to you for free (i just did it).

Borrow an AT&T phone from a friend for a couple minutes to receive your apple rebate txt message.

I didn't know anyone with an AT&T phone. I went to walmart and bought a pay as you go phone for about $35 dollars to use for my rebate.
I now have a spare phone which I will use during emergencies or when going out to places that I shouldn't take my iphone (such as fishing).

yeah dude i dont know how that is ging to work for you because you need both the original phone and the original nimber which i am sure you have, but im pretty sure you need both. Can you get store credit on your current phone, if so then I wouldn't worry about it (though I know you still had to buy the phone twice and that sucks) and if you can't thats really ashame.

And good post. You're probably 16, if that. You're mad someone stole your iPhone. You shouldn't of been careless.
 
What's the point of chiding someone whose iPhone got stolen? Sure it is fairly obvious that theft isn't part of the warranty, but why make him feel worse?

Unless you have some sort of home insurance that's extended to your iPhone, you're probably SOL.

:eek:I am in the exact same situation, I lost my 3G a month after I bought it and I had to get a new one for $500. How did you apply for store credit?

You relize that ALL phones have tracking devices... if any phone is connected to a tower, and you told the police to trace it, they can find it. Simple simple.

yeah ! ur iphone serial number & IMEI number will be stored in the window of itunes. U wil c this wen u point one of ur back up

Ist# In itunes window top left u have "EDIT"
2nd# In EDIT u have "Preferences"
3rd# In Preferences window u have "Devices" where ur backup history is
displayed.
4th# wen u point ur cursor on ur device backup it will display
IMEI & Serial numbers

Lost iPhone with passcode on

I lost just 5 month old iPhone 3gs of mine.. It was locked with a 4 digit passcode and a sim lock code too.. Had registered a police complaint also, but nothing seems to be working out..
Can some one help me.. I really want my iPhone back...
