Getting serial number from iTunes

Orko thank you - I have been trawling forums to find that answer - very clear - just what I need.

Conversion of serial nber to IMEI code

Hi
Sorry to jump in this forum with my problem but did not know where to post my question...
I had my iphone stolen but I have noted down the serial nber. Going though the forums I just saw and realized that I actually need the IME code to get it blocked by the providers. Any idea on how from a iphone serial nber you can find out the actual IMEI code???

Thanks for your help,
X

I lost my iPhone a while ago, and since had to purchase a new one. Anway, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get the serial # for the store credit? I can't find the receipt anywhere =( I'll keep looking though.

Thanks
Folks, this thread is from 2007! The OP was looking for the $100 Apple credit based on the price reduction for the original iPhone.

After the initial launch, Apple reduced the price by $100.00 and early adopters were eligible for a $100 Apple store credit.

The rest of the recent posts are quite lost and confused based on the original thread! Sometimes "search" is not our friend! :D

att wont track your phone and neither will the police. i had a week old 3gs stolen and the police nor att would do anything about it. I filed a police report and reported it stolen to att. I still have the original box. Is there a way to track it with the numbers on the box or at least make it unusable to whoever stole it?

You can find the GUID, ICCID, IMEI, Phone Number, Serial Number etc. from the file Info.plist in your iPhone backup in iTunes.
The backup is usually in directory ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/.../.
