Lost my install disc, will my other ones work?

I lost my install discs that came with my MBP. Will the install disc that came with my iMac work?

if you want to use Disk Utility on the restore disc it may work. but the grey restore discs that come with Macs are only for that particluar model and will not install on other Macs of different spces.

you will need to buy the retail Leopard install DVD.

you should call apple to see if they can get you a replacement disc

Could you do a fresh install on another mac using the original disk for that other computer and then download Carbon Copy Cloner, clone the new install to an external HD and then clone that to the MBP?
