iPod touch Lost my iPod

I lost my ipod yesterday. cant find it anywhere. is there a way to track it so i can find it? or would I have needed to install an app on it before i lost it? please help. thanks

If its a touch, yes u can use the find my iphone app. Assuming u had it step for that.
