I have run into this strange problem with my hard disk. I first created a 30 GB partition on my hard disk with bootcamp and then I installed windows XP on it. This worked fine for a time but then I wanted to re-partition this drive and install a version of ubuntu. So I ran the live cd of ubuntu and started the install process. I told it to smart partition my windows hard disk in boot camp into two 15 GB partitions and to compact my files so they were all on the windows disk and the linux partition would be blank. The installer got messed up which I didn't know if it was an error or a disk problem. Now when I boot up the only drive bootcamp detects to boot from is the OSX partition. I used the disk utility to try and find the partitions and it only detected the 15 GB windows partition which bootcamp can no longer use to boot. So now 15 GB of my hard drive space are lost somewhere and I can get them back. I wondered if anyone knew how to get this space back without reformatting the entire hard drive or the windows partition. I don't care if the solution doesn't allow the last 15 GB partitions to remain separate. Thank you for the help.
