Purchased a ringtone and it disappeared first day. I thought I messed up and bought another ringtone. The next morning it was gone. I can see it on my backup, but cannot restore it back to my phone. Was able to push it to my iPad just fine. How do I get them back. At this point I'll never purchase another ringtone.

iPhone Lost Ringtones

I had the same thing happen on an iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S both running iOS 8.1.1. I called 
last night and they said that this is a known issue they are working on and they anticipate an update to iOS 8 on Dec 8th.
They credited my account for the ringtones we purchased for the holiday season and we will have to re-purchase them once the update is installed.
So, if you have not called support then do so and politely request a credit.

I seem to be XP the same problem. Downloaded ringtones I get from the web synch just fine, but tones I buy from iTunes are disappearing from my phone the next day. Weird.
