Lost/Stolen iPhone...

My brother and I got our phones about 2 weeks ago (Dec 26). He had the white 16gb. Well, he was using his cheap back up phone (with sim card) but misplaced the iPhone!! We have looked all over. Obviously he is rather upset over his loss. Can he go into Apple and get the iphone for $499? How is it activated - he still has his sim card...

yes. he will get new sim though and keep same number

Edit - Have you tried calling your brother's iPhone (I understand the iPhone has a SIM in it)

we've tried everything. he has the sim card from the iphone in his back up motorola. can he just go to apple or best buy (where he got it) and get another one for $499? what is the process?
