lost windows-7 admin password on mac book pro (vmware)

Hi Guys,

I installed windows 7 in my mbp using vmware. now i lost admin password.

How to reset/recover this? i dont have password reset disk.

How to bypass the password screen.

Any idea how can i get out of this trouble.

please help by responding.

it is really a hard one. before there is an application to retrieve the password but i think it is for microsoft applications like MS Office. forgot the name of the application. i'll dig deep into my archives if i still have it but don't know if it will work on the logon screen for windows.

For a non domain computer, you should be able to look for a password recover cd. It won't determine your existing password, but it will allow you to boot off of the cd, and reset your password to something else (or clear it). Then, once you login to windows normally, you can set it to what you want.

It simply wipes the password so you can login and then set it to whatever you want.


If you want something more advanced you can try Hiren's BootCD but that is an entirely different solution.
