Here are a couple of camera shots from my IP6.....

Here is a shot I took with the iPhone 6. I didn't really get to take the camera for a thorough spin because I only had the phone for 13 days before going back to the S5, but overall I think the photos are quite good. Sharp, fast focus, and punchy colors.

Your uninformed. The force required (Note 3 & 4) is much higher than the point at which the iPhone bends when tested with equipment designed for this type of test.

The Note 3 & 4, are currently the most durable bend resistant phones money can buy. I've carried mine for a year without any problems. It's a great smartphone series. Yet so are my iPhones, just a bit limited in capability.

The Note 4 hasn't been tested properly yet. Personally I think it's going to be weaker than the 3 because of the metal frame. They probably both bend at the same level of force, but the Note 4 (like the IP6) will be less likely to bounce back due to the metal. Kind of funny since Samsung has been getting so much push to stop using all plastic, while the plastic is most likely more durable.

I'm not saying the Note 4 and IP6 require the same amount of force to bend, but until CR (or someone else) wants to put it in their 3-point bend machine and get some numbers we don't have any real data yet.

Nice picture! Is that your son? Did he fall?

It is, and he's just taking a break from all the sight seeing walking.

Given the amount of money he has generated by manipulating this 'scandal' (if it is a scandal - to me it's as others have said more common sense than scandal) then he will likely be around for a while.

That being said, I used to subscribe to his channel but since this I have grown cynical of his manipulations and question his reasoning / motivations for his video findings and therefore no longer subscribe.

I need to trust my reviewers integrity, I have issues with unbox therapy integrity.

I feel the same. Anyone getting into the phone bending business will never have me as a subscriber.

I regard it as pointless in the same way drop tests are pointless and not remotely beneficial in determining how I buy or use devices.

Throwing phones in blenders is especially ignorant.

Amazing pictures! Wow! Yeah I could definitely live with no OIS:p

Any phone will bend if you try hard enough.. metal ones just might bend a bit easier than plastic (before it snaps).

:apple:

The problems lies in "hard enough". How hard is enough? Define hard enough "standard" :D

The guy has a point. All he's doing is giving the user more information.

Nope. He's lining his pockets with nearly $100 THOUSAND DOLLARS from ad revenue.

Once he made that first bendgate video and got a taste of the moola, that's when it became all about the money. Nothing more, nothing less.

how will it help us users when a thin phone cannot function properly in real life without a thick case?

much rather a thick phone with bigger battery (or even swappable battery, dare I dream?)

If that is what you want, then get a Galaxy S5/N4 or LG G3. iPhones will never have a swappable battery. Stop betting on Apple to give you what you want and go get a phone from another OEM.

The harder the better .... Everyone knows that ;) :p.

Agreed.... He uses no scientific measurement of the exact force he is exerting or whether he is using the same force on all devices. His motivation is just money based, not for the betterment of his subscribers. This really turned me off a lot of YouTube reviewers. Those that have jumped to defend him - I have also unsubscribed from. Good reviewers and bloggers like Marques Brownlee have not sunk so low.

Who has defended him?

Isn't that what everybody is about?

As far as I can see, the CR video has no ads or sponsored ads. (Like the Unbox guy's Square Space ad)

They may be getting paid under the table, but the Consumer Reports video has an entirely different approach.

The CR video is at least somewhat scientific, they used the same factors and pressure on each phone. It's just not realistic for real life stresses IMO, how often are you going to bend your phone like that. I'll bet the issue is smaller constant stress/relax/stress forces over an extended period of time.
