Hey, I have a Power Mac G5 with two cpus and I swapped out one of the processors, because I thought it was defect. When I started my mac just with the known-good old cpu which I didn't swapped it worked well. But when I started it with just the new cpu I had swapped it worked too, but the fans are very loud. I then put both cpus in (the old good one and the new one) and the fans were still really loud. I did an Hardware Test and there was just a weird RAM problem. Then I installed Mac OS 10.4.3 but still the same.

You need to download Apple Service Diagnostic 2.5.8, burn to disc, boot off it, and recalibrate the thermal sensors.

It can be found here.

I think you can try thermal calibration via ASD (Apple Service Diagnostic) Disc, a CD. Perhaps it may help. You can find an image of the CD online.

Edit: Oops, I was beaten to it.

Isn't that just for testing?

Is there another source? Because when I try to open it on my MacBook it says that it may harm my device and it never did it before with a dmg. And I can't just "burn" it to an USB using Disk Utility.

Don't worry, that's par for the course. It won't harm your device.

You don't even need to open it. You just need to get the .dmg onto a bootable medium.

Yes you can, though it's recommended to use recordable DVDs for simplicity. Just use Disk Utility's Restore function, the source being the .dmg, and the destination being the USB volume.

We can talk about booting after you've restored it.

That warning message pops up for many ripped optical discs in general, for some technical reason, in OS X, but mean nothing. This popped up when I made an image backup of one of my harmless Printer Drivers CD just the other day.

Edit: After mounting the dmg:

Just a little tip, since you seem to have an Intel Mac system: UltraISO on Windows allows burning discs with .DMG. I never tried ASD with it, but I have some bootable DVDs created with that. Oh, and it's free, as in, gratis. Though I only used that program before I had any OS X system set up yet, a long time ago.

I have heard Disk Utility has become more and more unreliable in later versions of OS X (or "macOS"), though I'm not sure if your problem is an instance of that.

Try mounting it on another system (OS X).

So I mounted it on the loud Power Mac and "burned" it to the USB but when I hold the option-key while booting it just shows my HDD but not my USB.

USB booting doesn't work on a lot of older Macs (short of using Open Firmware commands). Did you try a CD again?

Reboot and hold down Cmd + Opt + O + F.

You will boot into Open Firmware. Enter "boot ud:,\\tbxi".

It should boot into the USB.

I think I don't have a blank CD right now ):
Reboot and hold down Cmd + Opt + O + F.

You will boot into Open Firmware. Enter "boot ud:,\\tbxi".

It should boot into the USB.
This just shows a grey screen with a crossed circle.
Edit when I do "devalias" there is no "ud".

Could you help me? I know it is a few weeks later but I have time to fix that soon

Here's what you need to do...

Follow this video, and just replace 'yaboot' with 'tbxi'. If that fails, I would try a different USB.

Alternatively, make a new partition (5, 10 GB) and restore ASD to that. Then you can boot from it just like another OS.

I made 4 partitions on an USB but when I type "dev / ls" I can just see "usb@b, 2" but I can't see any disks there.
