Recently my phone seems to have developed what can only be described as a squeal immediately after dialing a number. This squeal is so loud that I simply have to cut off the call before speaking.

The squeal itself does not appear to be intermittent, it is just a continuous, loud, high pitched squeal. Although, I have never been able to keep the call on long enough to discover whether it will go.

I also think this only occurs when I have a low signal as a couple times my call has resulted in a call failed.

Any ideas as to what this could be and how it can be fixed? At the moment I have a phone which cannot make a phone call.

I should also point out that this problem doesn't always occur. I just cannot work out what sets it off. I have tried making the call with 3G and data turned off both of which had the same results.

This usually means the atom bomb has dropped near the person you are calling.
