It will put a lot of wear on your battery. If you don’t absolutely need a fast charge, do a slow charge with the 5w brick or 7.5 Qi wireless charger.

Well said. I find a 12w iPad charger a happy medium.

I finally caved and got a MagSafe charger recently. I'm using it with a 20 W charger, and the thing gets way too hot - both the puck and the phone. While I'm still within the return period, I think the thing is going back. It doesn't even charge that much faster to be worth it. Just using the cable with the 20 W charger is much better and produces little heat.

I’ve used MagSafe since nearly day one and kept my phone on it all the time and it seems to have taken a toll on my battery health. Usually after a year of usage I’m at 96% or so. Here we are less than six months in and I’m down to 94%. I’m done with MagSafe, back to my slow wireless chargers.
