Love the 3GS but bumbed on external hardware

I received my new iphone 3gs today, i also have an Iphone 3G... but the bummer is i have 2 iphone "3rd" party devices i just bought last month and wont work with either now.
Seems some things like Ihome clock radio and the portable speaker set, wont work with version 3.0 of the I phone.

Too bad there wasn't some backward compatibility software built into the iphone.
I know most will blame the vendors of the 3rd party accessories, but yet, there was no warning that any 3rd party hardware will most likely not be recognized . If i had know that i wouldn't have upgraded my 6 month old 3G phone to 3.0

Then return the phone? Its been within a week still so you can take it back.

Bummed + dumb? --> absolutely a joke! (and bad one at that)

Specifically which third party device? All the silly stuff I've bought so far work with all three models.
