Yup. My jaw dropped when I opened up Reeder on my iPhone this morning while sitting on the pot (ok maybe too much info there). I cannot wait till the Mountain to be released. Although, I find the Lion in their picture to be quite naked.

Or you could just use google voice for the past few years its been doing that.

Google Voice is not available everywhere and moreover given Google's recent record on privacy that last thing I would want to do is give them more information about myself....

Google Voice would be a good option except for the fact that is doesn't support MMS (ie: attachments). Without this capability, I can never use it as my main number for communication.
