Picked up an 13 pro today and the screen is not great, it has low contrast and looks quite dingy, compared to my wife’s iPhone 12 there is no comparison at all, her phone pops with vibrance and clarity.

I got a 13 PM awhile ago and that had the exact same issue as well, so I was hoping the 13 pro would be as good as the 12, after all it’s a lot more money.

No problems here with my 13PM and I'm guessing my experience represents the vast majority based on what I've read. I previously owned the 12 Pro and the 13 PM is even better.

Maybe play around with the display settings. For example, try turning Tru Tone off.

Returned a phone yesterday for this very reason. My first Graphite 13 Pro Max had the vibrant/crisp screen but also had some flickering issue. While I was hesitant to give up the nice screen, the flickering bothered me. I returned it within the 14 days for another 13 PM. Let me tell you that screen looked like complete crap....very dull, washed out colors with zero vibrancy. Also the brightness of the phone was not there as it most likely was a lemon but pretty much what you described. That one went back last night as I was able to reserve yet again another unit. The new ones screen is on par if not better than my first one. Me personally after seeing what the screen should look like would not settle and return the unit.

Ok thanks both for your feedback, yeh True Tone is off, can’t stand that option so always turn it straight off. Just gutted I get two 13’s P and PM and both the same.

It should at least be on par with a 12, back it goes anyway.

I am not sure if there is more of a panel lottery this year than in previous years just from the standpoint of the supply chain issues but definitely return it. Hopefully you can reserve one for the same time you go to process your return. Looking at that type of display is very underwhelming and not worth the premium cost IMO to just live with it. Best of luck!

Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder. My 13 PM screen looks great to me. I have yet to see any major issues with screen uniformity in ANY iPhone. Maybe I need to get my eyes checked.

Did you disable auto brightness in accessibility? Does it go brighter and still be with low contrast? Then it's a subpar screen
