My new C2D MBP says the cores are running at 50c, but the bottom is really hot. Not burn-your-skin-off hot, but definitely uncomfortable. this true for anyone else?

That means it's working. The heat from the processors has to go somewhere. Put it on something flat and solid - not straight on your lap.
