Every now and then when I'm transferring things, I get the pop up that says my memory is low. But when I plug it into iTunes, it says I have 6 GB free. Anyone know what is going on?

You have an apps partition and a data partition. The Apps partition is about 300MB and that is what is filling up. There's a thread here someplace that shows how to move your apps to the data partition to free up space.
