iPhone 12 Pro Max

I am just wondering if anyone is experiencing this same issue with low volume notifications with all volumes turned up to max. I have ringer and alerts turned up all the way in settings and still my notifications come out very low - Ringtone is loud, no issue with the ringtones - It's just the stock notification alerts. Anyone else experiencing this on the 12 series?

I went to T-mobile and the employee there had the 12 pro max also - and his was the same way, very low alert sound. Is anyone talking about this? or is it just me?

I’m not having any issues with mine. I don’t use the preinstalled alerts that come on the phone. I use the ringtones I have created over the years and those are already loud.

Thank you for the suggestion - but that did not change anything. I am to the point where hopefully the iPhone 13 will have louder notifications. I am not sure if it's a hardware issue, or software - but none of my pervious phones had this problem - and maybe it's not a problem for some people, apparently... but for me I like to have my alerts and notifications loud at times, especially when I am out in noisy places - or my phone is in my pocket. Maybe I just received a defective device? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Although I have seen other people discuss having this same issue on other forums - so I know that I am not the only one.

My IPhone 12 Pro Max rings for incoming calls when it wants to…same with text messages. I googled until my eyes bleed to no avail. Getting pretty tired of it to. I think it has been an issue since IOS 13! I just want it fixed! Apple glazes over what they seemly can’t fix and tries to sell you a “silk purse” in another. I love my Apple products but this is really getting to me. Might have to try a factory reset and I really don’t wanna do it. I shouldn’t have to if Apple would get their sh$t together.

the only pending way is to wait IOS 15 , but if any one find out a solution please share

Hi All,

I have just purchased an Iphone 12 Mini for my 79 year old mother.
She is upgrading from an Iphone 6 which works well, however due to living alone under Covid restrictions we thought it best for her safety and not having a home phone; to upgrade her to the new phone.

HOWEVER the incoming Message Alert Volume is half the level of the Incoming Call volume. She CANNOT hear it when it is in her bag.
It is HALF the level of the Iphone 6 incoming message alert volume.
I have checked the system settings and we have even tried every different alert tone in order to seek more volume.
BUT ALAS this phone is not only a step backwards from the Iphone 6, I believe it is not fit for purpose.

The frustration comes from hearing the volume on incoming calls which is beautifully loud. Therefore we know the phone is physically capable of ringing loudly it is purely a system setting issue.

DO NOT BUY an Iphone 12 if you use text messages and want a loud clear alert tone.
Can anyone solve this issue?

On my iPhone12 Pro, I've been having the same issue with the alert volume being very low - specifically my text tone. After messing around, I finally did something that worked for me. Go into settings-sounds & haptics. I changed my text tone to something else, then back to what I already had it on originally. After doing this, the sound was back to being louder again.

Hi, NOOOO that does not work.
The problem is the ALERT volume for the Message, is literally half the volume for the Phone Ring alert.
Some alert message sounds are louder than others, but they are all at half the volume to the phone ring alerts.
There is obviously a system setting on the I Phone 12 for this. As my old I Phone 6 did not have this issue.

Hi Its CLEARLY a SOFTTWARE issue as the hardware is capable of ringing loudly when the phone alert sounds. Phone alerts are TWICE the volume of message alerts. Therefore we know the phone can do it, it is just the TERRIBLE system setting within I Phone that is making this phone SOOOO Horrible to use.
DONT BUY ANOTHER ONE is the answer.

Has anyone resolved this issue at all? I'm having this issue with the iPhone 13 Pro Max as well!

I got two iPhone 12 minis today to replace a 7 and an 8, and realise that the alert sounds (ringer, text alert) are noticeably lower than what I am used to on both the 7 and 8, for the same scale level.
