in any finder window, navigating up or down in the directory tree comes with an annoying delay of a second or longer... well I always kinda felt finder could be more responsive but it seems to have gotten a lot worse lately...
also, when making a screeshot (command-shift-3), the whole system hangs for several seconds while the cpu is revving... that's definitely new...
now, here's my specs:
2.4ghz 15" led mbp , 4gb, standard 160gb, osx 10.4.11
my harddisk is usually rather full (min. 60-70%, but try to stay below 80% as it slows down brutally if you go above that)
I keep doing the usual maintenance (sudo periodic daily/weekly/monthly) and run onyx every once in a while, an applescript called maintenance3.7 that also fixes prebindings as they got messed up before...and the included disk utility (repair permissions and disk)
sooo, anybody has any ideas what's getting my baby down? finder- and screeshot-wise? thank you!
