I have recently updated from Sequoia to Tahoe on my M3 Max MacBook Pro 16". After a while of higher load Mac lowers the output even though temperature is ok. I was able to run denoise in Lightroom or games for long periods of time without losing performance. Now performance goes down and power consumption goes down. Even in high power mode GPU sustains only about 30W. In automatic mode 20W. It takes longer to denoise photo and it is problem for my work. Is this normal? Or my Mac has some issue?
It lowers FPS in game from 70 to 50 for example. It frustrates me quite a bit especially when denoising photos and 1 photo takes 14 seconds instead of 9 seconds or so.

Thanks but I do not have low power mode activated. I have automatic or high power here.

I have probably found the issue. Something is wrong with airflow and cooling. When I manually set fans to maximum even in automatic mode it performs much better. So probably will try cleaning the fans. Airflow sensor and power supply sensors show really high temperatures so maybe it is lowering performance because it is not cooled properly.

That sounds likely. That matches the symptoms of my friend's MacBook Pro. We cleaned out the heatsink and fans, and performance went back to normal after.
