Problem with system memory after jailbreakme (?), checked cydia and system memory shows utilization of 87% on a 3gs ios4. Previously jb with blackrain - had installed a bunch of cydia apps like infolock, sbsettings, irealsms, etc...working great. Now after upgrading to ios4 and jb - cannot install the cydia apps without system crashing and going into safe mode...tried rebooting - no good. I checked with ifile to look at caches etc. - nothing unusual. Did the previous blackrain jb reduce available system memory? Checked the system memory on a jb ipad and it shows only 65% utilization. Any suggestions? Thanks

No, previous JB have nothing to do with it.
They can never reduce the system memory since its there static and not virtually.
Maybe try a restore.
How much available memory does it display on sbsettings?
Maybe you installed something buggy thats taking up all your resources.

My guess is that the OP was looking at the available drive space not the RAM. The reason for everything crashing is that you are probably installing things that aren't updated for iOS 4.

Buggy Software

Took your advice and deleted the buggy software which was causing the system crashes. Once updated to a newer version app, the system crashes stopped...and installation of additional apps proceeded without hitch. Thanks
