LR 6 for 64 bit OS only

So if you want t ouse LR 6, you definitely want to upgrade now to a 64 bit OS. If you are already running newer OSs like Mavericks, or Yosemite you should be good to go.

It will interesting to see which appears first....Photos or LR 6.

Anybody not running a 64 bit OS these days? As long as I can buy an upgrade outright I'll be happy.

Other forums on this site have tons of folks holding on to older big cats releases with a death grip. Some are due to their old hardware and some because of an app they want/need not running on newer OS.

Respect to those people. Old OS rules in many circumstances.

If 6 opens the CPU processor, many will have an excuse to reconsider

Yep and they can't expect to have all the new apps at their finger tips either.

I mean if someone chooses to run on old hardware (which is fine), there are consequences for that decision. This looks like one of those consequences.

I'm sure a lot will be made of this, but I do think its a non issue.
