My ATT LTE iPad has been working great until yesterday. I thought it was just bad signal at my work. But when I left for the day, it continued. During the drive home I found a ATT store and after troubleshooting, they swapped my SIM just in case.

At first I lost all LTE service altogether. But after 10 mins or so, I was up and running again... Or at least i thought i was!

This morning I left my house to find that my LTE service again was acting up.

So I went to the apple store, and they said to back up your ipad and restore. I hate that answer! Every time I go to apple, their geniuses always say that... whether it is a mac, iphone, and now a ipad! On a full 64gb ipad, It only takes 5 minutes to wipe it but it takes ~45 mins to 1:30 to get all of the data restored!

Ok so what I did was I bought another iPad ATT 64GB!

I put my old sim into the new ipad -> it didn't work.

I put the new sim into my old ipad and transfered my account over to the new sim. - > didn't work.

I then put the new sim into the new ipad... Drum roll! It still didn't work!

After SIM swaps, hard resets, network settings resets, 30 mins call with ATT tech support, and erased all on new ipad. It will work intermitantly and then just die.

I was finally convince their was just something wrong with my acc! I have seen odd things in 10 years with working at the Shack.

So... on my old ipad with my old sim, I did the unthinkable.

I created another account! yes i'm paying for it but I couldn't think of any other troubleshooting steps...

And guess what!

Still doesn't work. So is there an LTE outage going on in Houston?

I know when during the first LTE outages with Verizon when the RAZR came out i had a customer return the phone. It took 3 days for verizon to fix the outage.

Last attempt i just put the old sim with the new acc into my the ipad...

Doesn't work correctly.

I should be able to view more than 3 webpages before it stalling before the complete page is downloaded.
I should be able to do more than 2 speedtests before it either fails to start or starts and completes the download portion but the upload test fails to start!

I'm a very frustrated apple fanboy tonight.

(I'm also n a bad mood tonight because my dentist told me today that I need to go to a TMJ specialists. I called him and i was told that it costs $450 for the consult and $3500-$5000 for the treatment. Does everyone know how big a hot pocket is? Well I can't open my mouth wide enough to bite a hot pocket without pain!!!) And when i came home from the dentist, I found a lovely yellow card from my mailman! My package won't be ready to pickup until 9:30. And I have to be at work at 9:30!

Oh yeah... New problem too! With the new ipad I bought it also has the yellow tint problem!!!

I am having issues with the whole AT&T network in San Antonio. Whether it is LTE or HSPA+, the data is either really slow or won't connect at all. I think it's a regional issue.

No problems here. In The Woodlands, and work in Spring and usually get 4-5 bars of LTE. Usually pulling around 19 down, even as high as 48 down!

not at my house but while driving to my house there is an ATT tower.

I've gotten as fast as 58mb down!

Anyone else in Houston where there LTE is not working correctly?

It will start to download a page but it keeps failing to finish the page unless it is mostly text ie macrumors vs craigslist.

I'm in the heights by 290 and 610.. I don't always get full bars, but don't seem to get the problems you were describing. I'll try to use 4G LTE a little more and get back to you.

Ok so I've tried to use LTE in Houston like you have and have gotten similar results. It takes way too long, and in some cases, fails to even load when using safari or any app. I never lost my LTE signal though. I found that it was way faster by turning LTE off and just using 4G HSPA+. I think it might just be the network, because I wasn't having these problems a couple days ago.

Good someone having problems like me! And sorry i failed to mentioned that I always have 2 signal bars in my house. I normally only get 15mb down.

but if i were to go outside into my cul de sac. I get 3-4 bars and it bumps up to 20mb down.

My problems are also with 4G HSPA. The same issues as i described above will occur whether it is 4G or LTE!

Please any one with a LTE ipad in houston test your connection for me. Last night I THOUGHT, everything was fine but I was at home in WIFI all night. I wasn't until i left this morning when i noticed the problem still persist!

I think it's just an outage of LTE service in Houston for the time being, because I was not having this problem a few days ago. My 4G HSPA+ is working fine with 4-5 bars mostly all the time.

I spoke with a manager at AT&T store today and he said there is a known issue. In the southwest Houston. They are upgrading a tower to something.

I know u r getting 4 bars 4g but if u do three speedtests u may find that either both do and ul will stall or just ul will stall.

Yeah I figured it was an AT&T service issue that would get fixed.

As for my 4G HSPA+, it's working perfectly. Did 5 speed tests and no interruption or loss of signal at all.

Unrelated to the iPad, but i've noticed that me and my families iPhones have severely decreased quality of service with ATT in Houston as of about 6 weeks ago. I used to average 4 down and 1 up anywhere in Houston, but now I get 0.5-1 down and .5 up. I thought it was my phone but i've confirmed this drop on 4 other iPhones from friends and family. What happened to ATT data service in Houston.....

I am having this same issue and AT&T swore up and down nothing was wrong. I am pretty sure the upload connection shot. When I do a speed test I only intermittently get results and all this happened around thursday. I am in The woodlands, tx.

Looks like AT&T 4G LTE service is back to normal and might have gotten better. In my case, I now get 20mb+ download and 20mb+ upload on only 2 bars of service. I was getting around 15/15 before the service outage. How about everyone else?

I'm having the EXACT same issue. I live in Montrose/Neartown in Houston and work downtown. Starting on 3/28 the most I could get was 2 bars of LTE and pages would not load all of the way, only about 80% and then stop. The last few days it has been working a little better, but still never above 2 bars and I'm smack in the center of Houston...

This sucks... ATT sucks... I should have known better.

Verizon LTE isn't any better, don't beat yourself up too much. I can't get anything better than about 12 down, 8 up in Cypress, and it's been a while since I've seen those numbers. Just now in Westchase I got about 1.2 up and .8 down. On LTE. Granted, I had about 2 bars and I'm in an interior room, but still...

Almost starting to regret getting the Verizon version. I haven't seen speeds anywhere close to the craziness I've seen around here since launch.
