Does anyone know what the official storage is for music on the LTE series 3?

I have tried taking all music off and putting music back on to exceed 2GB, but I haven’t been successful with this technique.

I am a bit irate with Apple as my 16GB device is limiting me to 2GB of music.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.

I'd love to know as well. There has been conflicting info on this. Some say LTE model is still limited to 2GB but others say they've been able to sync more

I'm stuck in constant "updating" mode. Right underneath Hard Rotation is a gray spinning wheel that won't stop. Any idea on how to fix this?

In another thread people suggested removing all songs and then re syncing. Didn’t work for me but give it a go.

It’s probably in the midst of transferring songs. Leave it on the charger.

I left on the charger for like 12 hours. I also decided to delete all music and start over, but it’s still stuck in updates mode. Another thread suggested I put in the unlock code while on the charger. I’ll try that.

That doesn’t sound like it will do anything tbh. But let me know if it does haha

I had to leave my AW S3 on the charger and my iPhone charging right next to it for several hours. On my iPhone I opened the AW app and clicked on the Music tab and just left it like that. I saw Updating and a status bar at the top. I have all the sliders on, Heavy Rotation, New, Favorites and Chill. My watch shows 4.0gb of music. I didnt try to add any other music.

I’m getting the red exclamation marks that I’ve got too much music to add more - I’m only at about 800MB, no way are the playlists I’m adding 6GB or so - curious what the fix is too

No issues on my end. Have over 1000 songs stored on my watch and multiple playlist. I can still add more if I wanted. I’m running 11.01 on my phone and have the LTE series 3 aluminum.

Same problem here. Had a playlist on AW2 that was less than 1GB, but AW3 thinks is much bigger.

Right now my AW3 is stuck at “updating” mode. It only uploaded 287 songs but it took 8 GB??!!??

Good to see your Capacity also says 13 GB. I thought that was strange since we’re supposed to have 16 GB. Where did 3GB go?

13GB is the formatted space (OS, 1000MB doesn’t equal 1GB etc.)

I think it has to be spread over several playlists. I have at least 10 AM playlists on mine but each is like 25-100 songs tops. I couldn’t get a playlist of more than 250 songs/2GB to load onto the watch.

15 large playlist and 48 albums and it seems that i still have 4 gig of space left so room for more. If you have an AW3 you should be able to load more than 2gb

I read elsewhere you need iOS 11.1 then issue go bye bye

Can somebody else also look at Watch app > General > About > Capacity . . . does it say 13.0 GB? Thanks. Just wondering if perhaps that's the problem as I feel 13.0 is too low after taking 16.0 GB and formatting it. It shouldn't take 3GB away after formatting. Perhaps there's an issue there.

Music is now working as it should, did a reboot that might of been it. 13GB is normal I think the watch is reading space like iOS did prior to the file system update. 3GB isn’t just OS, but advertising space versus what it actually is to the file system.

Music is syncing onto the watch, but under Heavy Rotation which I have turned on I’m getting the gray spinning wheel. It’s still spinning after the Watch has been on the charger for over 12 hours! What process is it stuck on that’s making the gray wheel spin, spin, spin away?

I've got about 10 playlists with 230 songs loaded, with the last playlist showing a red exclamation point and I can't load any more - my apple watch app on the phone says that music is using exactly 2GB. I made sure not to select any playlists with lossless music.

And, I still have 8.2GB free out of the 13.0GB total (with only 6 apps and 217 photos). So I'm amazed that someone above has photos showing that they managed to load 1075 songs using up 7.5GB, because my S3 watch isn't having any of that.

Also, I have my watch set to sync only my "favorites" in photos, up to 500 photos limit. My "favorites" photo album in my iPhone has about 517 photos in it. So I'm not sure why only 217 photos, taking up 52MB, have sync'd. I'm assuming part of the photos issue is that I am using an "optimized" iCloud photo library on my phone, and it hasn't downloaded all the photos that need to sync, just the thumbnails (only 6GB of my 170GB photo library is on the phone).

Did you upgrade to 11.0.1 yet? There are claims that this limit was raised in the update.

Dave

I stayed off iOS 11 completely until 11.0.1 came out - I had to sit on my Series 3 with LTE for 5 days before I could try to set it up, even though I got it on Day1. Once 11.0.1 came out I did the upgrade, and the next day went to set up the watch.
