Why would you want to disable LTE? I am asking out of pure ignorance, here.

I disable mine when I'm not using it. I find it drains my battery quicker. When I turn it off the drain is a fraction of when its on.

I've found that sometimes the LTE signal is weak, but the phone won't switch over to 4G. I have to force it in order to get a faster connection.

Agreed, LTE is murder on the battery.

I have AT&T so HSPA+ works well me for outside of Manhattan but when I'm in Manhattan I like to turn LTE due to the fact that I work smack dab in the middle of Times Square so there 3G towers just don't work also I travel alot to places of NY/NJ/Pa that don't have LTE and just want the ability to toggle between them to fit usage.

There is a toggle in the settings, it just would be nicer to have it listed on sbsettings to get to it quick and easy. Shouldnt be that hard to include it in there IMO. Hope they hook us up with an update for LTE devices.

Juiced if you have IntelliscreenX there sbsettings allows me to turn lte on/off and HSPA+ on or off but when you turn 3G off it doesn't drop down to Edge it just turns cell data off completely

    Thanks bro.
I don't have intelli installed. I'm just going to wait for bigboss to include it in sbsettings.

Is it it just me or is it impossible to force EDGE on the iPhone 5 either with Auxo or SBSettings

That feature just must not exist on the iPhone 5.

At work I would always keep my iPhone on edge. A big saver on the battery but I could still receive my emails.

I mentioned in a different subject in this forum to download Batterydoctorpro. It will allow you to switch off 3G and use edge. It also makes the Sbsettings 3G toggle work again.

    Yep.
They're phasing out edge so that's prob why we can't get it to connect or even stick with 2G.

This is wrong... they may be phasing it out but you CAN force the phone to use Edge by using BatteryDoctorPro. It will then allow you to use SBSettings to toggle 4G on and off.

I am currently doing this with an iPhone 5 on at&t.

I know, Im just saying AT&T doesnt like people on 2G Edge still and trying to push all to 3G.

    Thanks for the tip!

I just tried batterydoctorpro, and sure enough after a respring the 3G toggle reappears in my SBSettings.

Though it seems batterydoctorpro has its own SBSettings style pulldowns and what not. I'd prefer SBSettings fix the 3G toggle but that batterydoctorpro UI is slick!

And yes, I would like a LTE toggle too!

Just a heads up to stay away from the latest update (version 3.6.5-224) as one of the "fixes" changes the 4G toggle to LTE on the iPhone 5. While some people might like this change, it removes the ability to toggle between 4G and Edge... something that I found much more useful. People wanting to keep the ability to toggle to Edge should stay with version 3.6.1-224.

It's amazing how many different threads we have on the first 3 pages that are all basically discussing the same topics. I wish we could all do a better job at being more organized when posting. Before rushing into starting a new thread, just look at the first 2 pages or so and see if one already exists. With the jailbreak less than a month old, everyone is going to be experiencing similar bugs and problems. Anyways, just food for thought. I love this forum and I'll read a bunch of different threads discussing the same thing and I'll still post in them if I have to! Haha

Back to the LTE toggle...If anyone is interested, I posted the NCSettings beta repo at the end of this thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1538477). It apparently fixes the edge toggle for iPhone 5. There might be some other info too that you iPhone 5 owners might find relevant. Either way, give the beta a shot. It sounds like it works. After installation, make sure you reset the settings before trying to activate the toggle. This is the dev's advice.

As far as SBSettings is concerned, looks like that battery doctor pro workaround is the only one that exists. Although I thought I remember seeing on twitter the other day an LTE toggle was gonna be added to sbsettings. Does one not exist still? Is battery doctor pro the only way to get the toggle? Interesting find to the poster who discovered it! Good job!

Edit: Looks like Apollo1444 already mentioned the NcSettings beta. Hopefully it works for you iPhone 5/NCSettings users!

    Update.
An LTE toggle for sbsettings just came out today on cydia.
    Requires iOS 5.1 or higher.

Supported Devices: iPhone 5, iPad 4 Cellular, iPad mini Cellular.
