I actually just ordered the wood one for my iPad 2. I quite like the way it looks. Will see if I like it once I get it on my iPad though. I had a coupon so it was only like 16 with shipping. If anyone wants to use the coupon it is sitelaunch35 for 35% off any item (good through may 27th).

I ordered the light colored wood one, with white logo inlay. Ordered it yesterday. I think it will look nice with my blue smart cover :)

Still havent made up my mind about these...

They looked so good for the first iPad, and look so bad now...

The first thing they must do, is to embed the speaker grill holes to the cover itself. That alone, would make a huge difference.

Other than that, the brushed metal doesn't look as bad as the wodden cover, but still, they can make an effort and cover a bit more.

For me the purpose is to protect the back, and I really don't want to bother with wet apply method that everyone else uses for films. If there were a clear film for the back that didn't need water, I would be in.

Yea, i think thats why these seem so bad. The original looked so clean and sleek that I can help but compare the two.

I guess its not terrible, but i dont know.

I'm still curious to know if anyone would use this on top of a clear full back skin?

Maybe it's just me, but there is so much exposed around the edges. Because of that A) I think it looks sloppy and unfinished and B) leaves room for the edges to get super scratched.

I like the idea and styles, I just wish it was better fitted to the iPad 2 back.

Thanks for the code. Just ordered the brushed metal. Thought about the black carbon fiber, but decided that in ye long run I'll probably be happier with the brushed meta.

Thanks for the coupon code Brandon.

I ordered the Nezuko wood finish. I like texture - the brushed metal looked a little too homogeneous to me - maybe in real life it looks more brushed. But I think the Nezuko will look pretty good with the navy leather smart cover. Or not. . .we'll see.

Agreed that these look worse than for the original iPad, but if you try to use the exposed part as a complementary color versus being bugged by it, it seemed OK to me.

I got mine in last night, but I didn't have time to apply it. I bought Brushed Metal and it looks nice. A bit more like the aluminum on the iPad back than the pictures seem.

Interestingly enough the apple logo is cut on my skin as ordered, but they don't remove it. I hope its easy to peel off of the backing. :)

I loved these textured skins from Lucky Tabs and almost ordered one before I saw the sample photo. Granted, the wood texture design is probably not the best choice to be used as a sample. I assume the brushed metal design would probably blend in better with the aluminum back of the Ipad 2.

I sent them an email concerning the current design not protecting the edges and not aesthetically pleasing. I would love it if they can come up with a curved version that covers the entire back, with holes and gaps to allow access to the buttons, camera, etc. The speaker section will be tricky, maybe with tiny holes? Of course, they will have to ship it in a shallow box instead of a flat envelope.

I don't know, I may still order the brushed metal skin if I can't find anything better the next few days, just to try it out.

Found an interesting version of the carbon fiber skin on ebay with more coverage, just exposing the corners:

Can you link the eBay page please?

Same change with the gelaskin I was going to (probably still will..) get. Definitely far less visually appealing...

Maybe if they had a silver carbon fiber so it didnt have such a contrast with the exposed aluminum..

I got the light wood and applied it today... Got a few compliments on it already. Only gripe was the cutouts werent perfect (around camera) but a little time with exacto knife solved it. For the money, I thought it should be 100% accurate. It has a nice texture feel to it. Thick, not cheap feeling. Was very easy to apply if you follow directions. Apple cutout in middle popped out easily :)

try stealtharmor from fusionofideas.com

they have variety choices and their install process is easy. I have the white carbon fiber and there are some tecture, and i like the fact that they try to cover much area as possible(othere than mic and speaker, only corners are uncovered). I don't think you will be disappointed. just my 2cent

I just applied the brushed metal skin to my iPad. Aesthetically I think its OK but it does not blend with the aluminum back as well as I'd hoped. On the positive side it does have a nice textured feel to it and seems durable enough.

Hey Zed I just applied by JustStickIt skin today as well. Probably the same as lucky labs (pics below). Surpised by your brushed metal pic, I thought it would have had a lot higher contrast than you show it. On their gallery pictures the contrast is much higher.

I thought LuckyLabs picture looked a bit odd, almost like the iPad was more white than aluminum, may have had something to do with shooting against a pure white background. I think that my picture is a better representation of what the brushed metal skin actually looks like on the iPad2 (though they did do a better job of aligning their skin). At the end of the day though I'm satisfied with it.
