Hi,
I've just bought and iMac 27" from ebay which was advertised as an easy repair. The LVDS connector needs replacing. Everything else is fine on the Logic board.
I've been searching around for the replacement connector but can't find one. Contacted Group 8 and after providing them with a serial number they came back saying the entire logic board needs replacing at a cost of over £671 + VAT. :(
I am really stuck here and sitting with a massive door stop.
The seller did advertise an easy repair and also stated no returns. Really upset about this mac.
Is there any help out there/ Is it possible to replace just the connector (Seems really tiny) at a fraction of the cost?
Any help would do. Thanks in advance. don't know where to turn to.

Board cannot be repaired and has to be replaced. You might find one on Ebay at a reasonable cost, if you're unable to return the computer.

thank You for your reply. I did give it back to the person I bought it from. Just concerned that they did advertise it as "easy repair" and "No returns" Haven't had the refund yet as he will try to "sort" it out by selling it on to someone who can repair it and then refunding me my money.
On the other hand came across this website :

Wondering if anyone has any dealings with them. They do claim at the bottom of the page to repair A1419 logic boards. They are based in America though. Problem is that once board is sent off they can come back and say that there are other problems with it and fleece you for extra cash.

good move to send it back. Sellers need to be accurate and truthful.
