It surprises me how Intel managed to conceive even faster and more power efficient chips from the same Nehalem architecture.
The i7-870 leaves the i7-920 far behind. Although as the article states the i7-870 is consumer/mainstream oriented where as the i7-920 is pro oriented. Side not: i7-870 isn't too overclocking friendly because of it's on-die PCI controller.
Personally, I'd still go with a i7-940 or i7-960, but the i7-870 does leave me thinking....
