I am sure this has nothing to do with any 3.1 issues or whatnot. It sounds like it's a labor issue (i.e. poor or unethical treatment from management)

Good for them. It'll be interesting to see which Apple deals with it, the Apple that's supposed to be all about people and standing by the little guy or the Apple of late that worships the almighty dollar and to hell with anything and anyone that gets in it's way.

Lynwood, Washington Apple Retail Store Employees May Stage Walk-Out

ifoAppleStore reports that employees of the Seattle-area Alderwood Mall Apple retail store in Lynwood, Washington are planning to stage a walk-out on October 3rd to protest employees' treatment by management and an unwillingness by higher-level Apple executives to appropriately address the "abusive" situation.
Now, staffers at the Alderwood Mall (Wash.) retail store say their complaints about "abusive" management and possible state and federal labor law violations at the store have been ignored by the company, and they are threatening to stage a walk out at 1 p.m. on October 3rd to protest.
The store's employees have reportedly discussed their issues with Apple Senior Vice President of Retail Ron Johnson, but have been unable to come to an agreement regarding the handling of complaints.

Someone is going to get yelled at in Apple HQ

Yea, HR will probably give that person hell. It is never good news to have your company in the news about disgruntled, or worse, "mistreated" employees.

Which you fail at here. If you've ever had a job, ever, where you've been treated unfairly then you would understand.

I thought it was funny... He's basically saying:
If you think working for Apple is abusive (and they may be), you should see how bad it would be working for Microsoft. The daily beatings will continue until morale improves.

The OP is not by any means telling them to sit down and shut up...

Hopefully this is an isolated incident. I also hope that these employees' concerns are addressed and some new management comes into the picture. I can't imagine Apple would stand for this type of abuse, and I hope that this isn't a widespread issue for Apple employees.

I can speak for myself:
I clearly am not in support of abusive labor practices nor opposed to workers opposing it via this method.

I will simply saying, "maybe they will walk-out and get recruited by Microsoft..."

The retail stores might be different, but from what I've heard the work atmosphere at the M$ mothership is usually described as rather pleasant.

(Unless you have Ballmer throwing chairs at you, but then again Steve Jobs isn't a stranger to dangerous outbursts, either.)

Eh, I know some of the empoyees of that store. I go there quite often, and got to know some of them pretty well. I hear them bitch about their jobs just as almost everyone else does, but it never came off as this serious.

It's great to see the employees stand up against the abuse they were receiving. In this economy, people are willing to tolerate more because they know it'll be hard to find another job. That's why I admire these employees.
Now, let's hope Apple sees reason and tries to solve the underlying problem. But I wouldn't be surprised if that didn't happen.

Actually, it's a reference to today's story that Microsoft is poaching Apple retail employees for its upcoming retail stores. Y'all are missing the punch line.

Of course being mistreated at work sucks, it's more along the lines of black humor than "ha-ha" out loud funny.
