Probably should be a pg2 rumor.

I think it's time, given Apple secrecy, that an replacement CEO candidate be selected, just like Balmer took over for Gates. Let Steve still be the inspiration, but someone else can takeover day to day ops, in a Balmer like manner :D.

According to Wiki on Jobs, there could be 3 more likely causes of the weight loses, complications arising from the pancreatic cancer, but the public will not know. One thing for sure would be long term survival rates for even Job's rarer form of cancer are not that great past 10yrs, or even 5. Time for Jobs to think about stepping down in the not to distant future???

Jobs is approaching the median survival time, after that it's luck of the draw...he could live another 2 decades, but who knows.

Agree that this is probably a Page Two post; however, with the accidental publication of a premature obituary, the known health issues, and the gaunt appearance of Mr Jobs himself recently, rumours, (quite possibly, fairly accurate ones) will, inevitably, follow.

While it is personally unfortunate for Mr Jobs, it is more problematic still for Apple given the company's almost genetic identification in the public mind (and more importantly still, in the marketplace) with Steve Jobs. Interesting times, especially with Apple "events" approaching soon offering probably stunning products which will keep us occupied and admiring (and hopefully distracted).

This "news" is credited to "Dan Lyons, better known for his satirical Fake Steve Jobs character."

He can likely be replaced by the Lego Steve Jobs, and still be more inventive than most PC companies.

That's going be the test. If he's not there at all I'd expect there's something up.
