m.2 960 pro PCIe inside Mac Pro 2012 and before

Is it possible to build a m.2 inside a older Mac Pro (not the 2013)? Maybe with PCIe adapter card? Thank you very much.

No, that's NVMe, and it won't be usable.

Last M.2 drive that worked was the AHCI SM951.
