no, in this case you wouldn't use the macbook audio out, because the system sounds would be routed to USB.


Well I plan on buying the Mbox2 and Yamaha HS50M's tomorrow...one last question though before I do.

You say my system sounds will be routed to USB through the Mbox - will the Volume keys on my apple KB be able to control the volume still or would I have to use the Mbox or Monitor volume controls?

Also, will my laptop speakers be disabled after installing the mbox2? Or will they continue to function separately?

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure this is what I want to buy.

Yeah the entire system audio is switched to working through the mbox. You should be able choose which device you want to use (internal sound or mbox) in the system prefs.
