Just say NO to Bose.

+1 Bose is like Dell. They are popular by name only and because of the hype people think they are getting a quality product.

IMO Bose is overpriced trash. Actually I shouldn't say trash cause they are decent, but not near the best or what I would consider "premium quality".

Your best bet is to go to a store and have a listen. I seriously bet youll be disappointed with Bose's offerings compared to some of the stuff out there.

Bose has made some decent products, for the most part they use their name to sell overpriced midrange products. Chances are whatever you find at Wal-Mart is not going to be able to beat Bose, so it's not trash. When you factor in the price is where it becomes problematic. With that being said, Bose in-ear headphones are absolute garbage.

Does anyone who knows anything about speakers and speaker companies think M-Audio is a better company or Bose? I don't know much of anything so your help would be great! I'm deciding between the M-Audio Studiopro 3 speakers and the Bose Campanion 2 series. These are the two because I found them in stores and so far like them the best...i need speakers soon and don't want to spend more than 100$ and can't wait for them to ship....any advice? thanks!
M-Audio all the way. That will give you accurate sound that sounds great. If sound is not accurate, what's the point of listening?

Everything Bose makes is junk. It has stupidly exaggerated highs, stupidly exaggerated bass, and absolutely NO mid-range at all. It sounds truly horrid and unbalanced. It is particularly bad on conversations, singing, vocals, piano, sax, guitar, and everything else that plays in the middle octaves. The mid-range tones on Bose equipment are literally non-existent. Bose = garbage, unless of course, all you listen to is shattering glass and thundering hollywood explosions, like in their store demos.

I don't think the OP has waited two years to answer this. My 901's have a mid-range. They aren't always pure crap, they are crap for the price. Bose headphones and earphones, another story. It's not fair to compare them to studio equipment, even if it is low-end M-Audio AV40s. Just like it wouldn't be fair to compare Boston Acoustics to Genelec.

Agreed, makes sense, they are targeting two different audiences. The "I want this to sound accurate, as it does in real life" crowd vs. the "shattering glass and hollywood explosions" crowd.

I'll take accurate over silly-exaggerated any day though, particularly when they are priced the same.

LOL I didn't notice this thread was from 2007. Ha!
