M1 Air Track Pad question

Hi Everyone.. My Wife has a M1 MBA 2020 ... Track Pad force is nice and hard set at MED.. The new ones in the store feel tinny like the M2 Air's.. I just ordered another M1 for myself 1TB 16GB ram. I'm wondering if they changed the track pad on the new 2022-23 machines, I assumed everything is the same inside the New M1 Airs now in 2023? Anyone have a new M1 Air and is feeling this tinny feeling? Thanks in advance.

I think there is some variation in the manufacturing process. My M1 and M2 MacBook Air trackpads seem very similar.

Hi, Thanks for your reply! What year is your M1 Air? My wife's is a 2020 and has a solid feel on trackpad the M2 air and the M1's in ths apple stores feel the same a bit tinny! Ill assume they updated the tracpad in the newere M1's !

Both were purchased on day of release. They generally got delivered in the first month of availability.

When did you buy the M1 Air .. What year 2020 - or did you purchase the M1 at the Same time as the M2 Air ?

M1 MacBook Air was on its release date in 2020. The same with the M2 last year.

When I use my MacBook Air 2020 as I am now,
the trackpad is firmer than the 2010 and 2012MBP
im sure  wont change the design of a series model like MacBooks Air trackpads.
I know this from working at a tech repair shop last decade were they seem the same, even in size.

Just received my custom order M1 Air. Trackpad is my more firmer than our M2 air. The M2 is tinny and soft to the touch. The M1 still retained the same trackpad engine as 2020.
