I purchased this USB C to Mini DisplayPort adapter for my M1 mini and Apple Cinema Display LED 24" A1267.

If you look at the top edge of the screen. There's a line of pixels that just disappeared. It is not an issue with the monitor as my old 2009 MacBook Pro is able to display a full screen w/o any issue.

There's also these pink dots showing up on screen occasionally.

Does that mean the adapter is not compatible? Should I try another adapter?

I have an Uptab USB-C to mini displayport adaptor and I have on occasion seen the pink dots. It also sometimes power cycling the monitor (27" Cinema Display) to get it to show up. Hoping that maybe by the time Apple gets to 11.3 they will have working device drivers.

I have the same 24" ACD but different USB-C to Mini DisplayPort adaptor (Aswin) and have the same top row pixel effect. I have only seen the pink pixels once in the 3 weeks or so I've had my mini.

Lenten (excellent customer service) is sending a replacement adaptor to see if it'll fix the issue. Their tech have tried the adaptor on my exact configuration w/o any issue. But sounds like it may be a combination of driver/adaptor problem since it happens on different adaptors.

HDMI to mini DP is an option as well (more expensive). Let's see if the new one helps.

Well, you are one of the testers of these 1st generation Apple Silicon Macs, so what did you expect? 😉

My old 2009 MacBook Pro is getting old and can die any time. Didn't want to buy old tech (Intel), so I took a risk.

Tried the new adapter. Exact same issue. Hopefully with macOS updates in the future, it'll sort itself out.
