M1 base model searching for external monitor

This is my first MacBook Air 8g base model. I am looking for recommendations on what resolution I need to display the best image. Right now, I am using an old Samsung monitor 1920 x 1080p. Just not sure what would be best and not overkill. Thanks

Pretty typical size these days is 27" QHD. If 32" or larger, get UHD (4K).

USB-C is almost mandatory.
