Am choosing taking a dep-dive into M1 MBA ..(preferably head-first), and trading in my current MBA (early 2017). Apple claims around $600 for that, and i weighted up the number of apps will be native, vs have to run under Rosetta 2 as a buyers decision as well.

However, the only thing is i need to get my MBA battery replaced first.... as it only lasts 1 to 2 hour max..

Is it best to do go though with the purchase now, as the battery does still hold a charge..it's just not more than 2 hours.

or should i replace battery, then trade in/get more back?

I guess using the app/Rosetta 2 decision as a influence is probably siding more down, than good, as a buyers choice, but then again, i am wanting to weigh in everything.. Not sure if thats the right way to go.

The other thing, is i've seen reports online of Rosetta 2 using too much resources... Is this true ? Suggestions ?

(as a side note. I don't beleive its really called a "trade-in" as your paying the full price anway up front. A trade-in is where you get a cut off the full price)

If you are doing the trade-in in store, I would't worry about the battery. If you have to mail off to Phobio, they are known to screw people over most of the time.
