Mine has simply integrated itself into my workday, so it has quickly become a tool of the job. In fact this is probably amongst the easiest and more productive transitions in systems I've had while doing this particular job for the last 17 years - and about 10 systems swaps, though half those have been Windows PCs.
The 24-inch suits my workspace much better than the 27-inch iMac did, and is far more comfortable to use. It is also much, much, faster. My daily intranet updates take less than half the time to compile and code, and uploading is faster too.
Other work is largely text based and nothing much helps Word go any quicker, (though LibreOffice is distinctly faster) but graphics, photo and document layout and editing are much smoother. Video editing is also much more seamless now, and overall, the impression is that my Mac-based workday is more productive. And I have more space on my desk, since it can sit a little further away on my desk, due to the smaller stand.
There are downsides. The 4k screen is superb quality, but I was rather spoiled by the extra real estate of the 5k. And while the 4 ports are adequate, I'm not keen on the fact that much greater expansion of storage or media requires a new hub, which are typically not inexpensive. It is also not quite as stable on the desk. Front to back is good, but it can be tipped side to side a great deal easier than the 27-inch. Not surprisingly perhaps since it is lighter and the stand is a bit narrower, but in my workspace I need to go behind the system to get at file space, and it's easy to give it a knock while passing.
I rarely use the speakers because I have a HomePod (and Amazon Studio) for music, and both/either are better sounding anyway, but the speakers are plenty adequate. They are less loud than the 27-inch iMac was, which might seem to be therefore 'less good', but they are actually far cleaner sounding, and have much better dynamic range. The 27-inch iMac would tend to lose quieter sounds into the background while these don't.
For video conferencing and meetings, the 24-inch is truly great. The camera quality is excellent, though also good enough for others to get a better view of the junk in my office. The microphones are also excellent, and I'm told provide much cleaner audio than the 27 did.
The proof of the pudding is in switching back to the 27-inch, and the experience of doing that is really quite disappointing. It feels slow, laggy and poorly responsive by comparison - and rather too big.
I don't have any issues with the design and styling of it, because I didn't buy it to look at so much as to use, and because it performs so well and seamlessly, I don't really ever notice stuff like colors or the presence or absence of a logo. The bezels do notably help focus however, because in my workspace, which is a sort-of off-white/cream, they are much less of a distraction. Overall though, after a day of using it intensively, I feel less fatigued than with the 27-inch.
All in all, I'm very happy, and consider the M1 iMac a great purchase.
