Can anyone check if the new 24" iMac works with its keyboard & trackpad wired and the Bluetooth antenna on the computer turned off? This used to work on previous versions, but one never knows when Apple changes these things.

I'm asking because I would like to work with the input accessories always plugged in (as well as Ethernet). I don't care for any wireless antennas on my desktop computers, for multiple reasons.

Much appreciated if any of you could test this out.

The mouse that has come with the iMacs has had the cable connector on the bottom of the mouse for a few years now. there is no way for that mouse to be used while tethered.

You can get a 3rd party wired mouse to use but you lose some functionality. The keyboard and trackpad work fine wired. I always keep a wired mouse and keyboard around for troubleshooting work.

The OP did not ask about the mouse at all. Specifically, the supplied keyboard and Magic Trackpad.

Can you recommend a good wired keyboard to use with the M1 24 inch iMac? I don't need an extended keyboard, but want one that looks like an Apple keyboard rather than a PC keyboard (keys for control, option command) like I am used to.

I have a couple of old Apple wired keyboards that I use. Can generally find them on eBay for $15-25.

Das Keyboard Pro for Mac. Comes with MacOS keyset. You can order with Cherry Blue or Brown switches.

I use the Keychrone K8 TKL brown switch. It can be used either in wired mode or wireless (Bluetooth) mode.
